Get free GitHub stars from real developers

GithubStarMate is a community of open source maintainers and active developers exchanging real stars, watches, and forks. No bots, no paid stars — just three simple steps.

Step 1

Bind your GitHub repository

Sign up with your GitHub token and pick the repo you want to grow. Setup takes under two minutes — no credit card, no install.

Step 2

Star, watch & fork others' projects

Browse repos other developers have submitted and interact with the ones that interest you. Every action is performed by your real GitHub account, not a bot.

Step 3

Get the same back, automatically

Other members reciprocate on your repo. Stars trickle in over hours and days — natural, organic, and from real developers with real commit history.

Stars
Watches
Forks

Built for two kinds of developers

Whether you're shipping an open source project or building a GitHub profile that actually means something — GithubStarMate is the shortcut that doesn't compromise your credibility.

Open Source Maintainers

Break the cold-start problem on a new repo

  • Get past the first 100 stars without grinding on Twitter or Hacker News
  • Watchers who actually read your release notes and try new versions
  • Forks from real developers who might become contributors
  • Real engagement that holds up against GitHub's spam audits

Developers Building a GitHub Presence

Show recruiters an active, credible profile

  • Signal you ship work that other developers find worth following
  • Mutual interactions with active accounts — every star has a real human behind it
  • Build a profile that survives a deeper look, not one that breaks under inspection
  • Help other developers' projects while growing your own portfolio

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers about how the platform works, what's allowed, and what it won't do for you.

Is this the same as buying GitHub stars?

+

No, and the difference matters. Bought stars come from dead accounts with no commits, no followers, and no history — anyone who looks twice can spot them, and GitHub's spam team flags them in waves. GithubStarMate stars come from real developers who star you because you starred someone else. Real history. Real timing. Real accounts that survive scrutiny.

Does this violate GitHub's terms of service?

+

GitHub prohibits automated activity and bot networks. GithubStarMate is mutual support between real human developers — every star, watch, and fork is performed by a real person's authenticated session. We never run automation against your account or simulate engagement.

Will my GitHub account get flagged or banned?

+

We rate-limit each account to 5 actions per hour for stars, watches, and forks. That mirrors the natural pace of an engaged developer browsing GitHub — far below any threshold that triggers review. Risk is materially lower than mass-following or scripted star campaigns.

How fast will I see stars on my repository?

+

Most members see their first reciprocal stars within 24 hours and steady activity within the first week. We deliberately don't deliver stars in instant batches — a sudden spike of 500 stars looks suspicious and devalues the signal. Organic pace is the point.

Why does GithubStarMate need a GitHub token?

+

To star, watch, or fork repositories on your behalf when you choose to. We never read your private repository contents and you can revoke the token from your GitHub settings at any time. The token only grants the actions you trigger.

Is GithubStarMate free?

+

Yes. The platform is free for individual developers. The only requirement is that you participate — you have to give stars to receive stars. It's a community, not a vending machine.

Does it work for established repositories too?

+

Yes. Maintainers with 50 stars use it to reach 500. Maintainers with 5,000 stars use it to keep weekly momentum visible on the trending page. The platform fits both early-stage projects and ongoing growth.

What happens if someone takes stars without giving any back?

+

Accounts that consistently take without reciprocating get suspended. The whole platform only works because every member participates honestly — and we enforce that.
