Repository URL or connected GitHub account
NiubiStar's help describes a basic exchange that accepts a repository URL without a GitHub token or OAuth and verifies public Stars through GitHub's public API. GithubStarMate uses a GitHub OAuth connection. If avoiding account authorization is your main requirement, NiubiStar's basic exchange may fit better. Choose GithubStarMate when you want to manage participation through a connected developer account.
Choose the actions that match your project
GithubStarMate supports reciprocal Stars, Watches, and Forks. These actions represent different ways developers interact with a repository, so decide what you want to enable before starting promotion. A Star saves a project, a Watch follows activity, and a Fork creates a separate repository copy. The enabled action mix also determines how your promotion credits are used.
Plan for one repository or several
NiubiStar's basic exchange binds one repository, while its Pro offering adds priority listing. GithubStarMate includes one active repository seat and offers paid additional seats. If you maintain several projects, work out how many need to be active at the same time before buying extra capacity. Repository seats and promotion credits serve different purposes.
Understand points and purchased credits
NiubiStar uses points to influence ordinary listing and permits points to offset purchase orders. GithubStarMate offers one-time promotion credit purchases alongside free exchange. Each completed Star, Watch, or Fork consumes one promotion credit; a mixed-action promotion using 100 credits does not guarantee 100 Stars. Credits do not expire, so choose a budget based on the actions you want to support.
